Miss Goldsboro Hayden Pearson and Miss Goldsboro’s Teen Ansleigh Thrash competed in the Miss North Carolina pageant and both finished in the top 10. The two young women competed at the High Point Theatre in High Point finishing in the top 10 on June 27.
“Making it to the final stages of competition for Miss North Carolina is a great accomplishment,” said Treva Howell, Miss Goldsboro pageant coordinator.
“To be named in the top 10 from a field of 38 each for both Miss and Teen is something to be applauded. Hayden and Ansleigh have put countless time, energy, and thought into their preparation for this event and it paid off.”
On top of finishing in the top 10, Thrash was also a preliminary night winner in the evening gown section on June 25.
As a part of her award, Thrash received a $500 academic scholarship sponsored by Lizzie Horton Peress.
Making it into top 10, both Pearson and Thrash were able to compete in the finals on June 27, where the competition was then narrowed from 10 to five.
The pageant ended with the crowning of Miss North Carolina Teen Camdyn Lee, representing Cabarrus County, and the new Miss North Carolina Lauryn Mallard, representing Charlotte, Howell said.
“Goldsboro and Wayne County are fortunate to have Hayden and Ansleigh with us for the remainder of their reign as Miss Goldsboro and Miss Goldsboro’s Teen until November,” Howell said.
“They are extraordinary young ladies who have accomplished something significant, and I’m proud to be part of their journey.”
