Hailey and Justin Bieber have expanded their property portfolio with the purchase of a $12 million apartment in Manhattan‘s West Village. According to Wall Street Journal, the 2,800 square foot home comprises four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms and a striking 120 foot wall of windows framing sweeping views of the Hudson River.

The residence occupies a coveted address within one of the neighbourhood’s most architecturally significant buildings, a 14 storey condominium conceived by hotelier and Studio 54 co founder Ian Schrager in collaboration with the Pritzker Prize winning architects Herzog & de Meuron. Inspired by the work of the late Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, the sculptural concrete and glass building is as celebrated for its design as its coveted location.

Throughout the apartment, a restrained palette of Scandinavian larch lends warmth to Herzog & de Meuron’s contemporary architecture. Wide timber floorboards and an uninterrupted sweep of floor to ceiling glazing illuminate the interiors, while framing panoramic views across the Hudson River. The kitchen continues the apartment’s pared back aesthetic, with bespoke larch cabinetry and refined detailing opening onto an expansive living and dining room. Beyond it, a separate chef’s kitchen is discreetly equipped with professional grade appliances by Sub Zero, Wolf, Gaggenau and Miele.

Set apart from the rest of the apartment, the principal suite looks directly onto the Hudson River and is complemented by a serene bathroom with twin vanities and a deep freestanding bath. An adjoining en suite room can serve as a study, library or guest bedroom, while the remaining bedrooms occupy the opposite wing of the apartment. Beyond the residence itself, the building offers an exceptional suite of amenities, from a landscaped courtyard and 70 foot swimming pool to yoga and Pilates studios, a steam room and a catering kitchen, as well as dedicated spaces for families.
