DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — NEW PLANS FOR THE ICONIC ABRAHAM & STRAUS BUILDING at 422 Fulton St. in Downtown Brooklyn, which until 2024 was the home of Macy’s, were unveiled on Monday by United American Land.
The 440,000-square-foot building will become “BKX,” a massive, flexible concept designed for entertainment and dining in addition to retail. The development will be the largest contiguous retail space in New York City, and will feature a new central “atrium” while retaining original architectural details. The project will be developed by real estate development company United American Land in partnership with The Jackson Group and Dreamscape Retail & Entertainment.

Located in the center of Downtown Brooklyn, BKX will have easy access to 11 subway lines and a Long Island Railroad station.
