Lyons, N.Y. — Five people face charges after police said a fight involving a gun in Wayne County led troopers to find illegal guns.
New York State Police said they responded to a report of a physical altercation involving a gun in the area of William and Queen streets in Lyons at 4:56 p.m. June 30.
Police said a verbal dispute had escalated into a fight, during which one person inside the vehicle pulled a gun and threatened the victim while preventing others from intervening.
Troopers found the suspect vehicle and made a traffic stop on Geneva Street in Lyons. Police said they detained all five occupants and searched the vehicle, recovering two loaded handguns — including one equipped with a conversion kit and laser attachment — and a loaded .45-caliber pistol reported stolen by the Rochester Police Department in September 2024. They also recovered multiple high-capacity magazines and ammunition.
The five suspects were each charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.

Letts was also charged with menacing. Police said all five suspects were taken to the Wayne County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
