ITS WINGS SPREADING ACROSS THE FRONT OF THE BOW. THE CREW HERE IS WRAPPING UP ITS TIME IN NEW YORK CITY, AND TOMORROW WILL BE SETTING SAIL HOMEWARD BOUND FOR US, RIGHT INTO THE BOSTON HARBOR. The U.S. Coast Guard Eagle, a 295-foot training ship, is docked at Manhattan’s Pier 17 and preparing to set sail for Boston Harbor on Wednesday.When the ship came into view, its striking eagle carving with wings spread across the bow left onlookers in awe. The ship, which is about the length of a football field, has impressed visitors with its size and craftsmanship. Boston Harbor will be filled with dozens of vessels from around the world on July 11 as the city celebrates the Parade of Sail, Sail Boston’s biggest day.

The U.S. Coast Guard Eagle, a 295-foot training ship, is docked at Manhattan’s Pier 17 and preparing to set sail for Boston Harbor on Wednesday.
When the ship came into view, its striking eagle carving with wings spread across the bow left onlookers in awe.
