Last month, the developers tapped by federal officials and Amtrak, which owns and manages the busy transit hub, released detailed renderings of the proposed Penn Station overhaul.

It will include a new entrance to Penn Station on Eighth Avenue, new concourses, expanded track capacity and more.

Amtrak says the goal of the redesign is to create a more efficient station for hundreds of thousands of commuters and visitors.

Construction is expected to kick off at the end of next year and be completed by 2034.

Andy Byford, who is serving as a special adviser to Amtrak and the former president of New York City Transit, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss the project.
