A 30-year-old woman from South Richmond Hill is accused of murdering her mother at the family home on the 4th of July. She was arrested the next morning after returning to the scene of the crime.

A South Richmond Hill woman is being held without bail after she was arrested early Sunday morning in connection with the fatal slashing of her 59-year-old mother, who was found dead by her husband at the family home on 128th Street on the 4th of July.
Homicide detectives arrested 30-year-old Bridgett Ramlakhan when she returned to the scene of the crime at the family home and was booked at the 106th Precinct at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 5. Ramlakhan was arraigned the following day in Queens Criminal Court on a complaint charging her with murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon.
According to the criminal complaint, inside the family home at 104-36 128th St. sometime between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Ramlakhan allegedly stabbed her mother, Ausha Ramlakhan, on her throat, shoulder and torso, causing her death. Crime scene investigators found a kitchen knife that appeared to be covered in blood in the kitchen sink.
Police responded to a 911 call of a female stabbed inside the home just before 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. The 911 call was placed by the victim’s husband, Wazir Osman, 67, after he came home from work and discovered his wife, unconscious and unresponsive, with multiple slash and stab wounds. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Osman told the Daily News that he had seen his daughter just down the block from the family home just before he made the grisly discovery. An NYPD spokesperson could not confirm that or reports that Bridgett Ramlakhan had recently returned home after nearly two weeks in a hospital psychiatric ward. She returned to the family home sometime after midnight on Sunday morning, where homicide detectives took her into custody.
Queens Criminal Court Judge Sharifa Nasser-Cuellar remanded Ramlakhan into custody without bail at her arraignment on Monday.
