MONTICELLO – Resorts World donated a total of $250,000 through its A Day of Giving random drawing out of more than 400 applicants; 25 community nonprofits across New York state each received $10,000. The funding was split by region, with 15 organizations in New York City receiving $150,000 and five each from the Hudson Valley and the Catskills, totaling $100,000. Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Megan Taylor spoke about the miraculous response from the entrance.

“The turnout from this community, both in the Catskills and Hudson Valley, was some of the best we have seen with anything that we have done in the past.”

Assembly member Paula Kay was the first to draw a winner from the Sullivan County basket.

“The Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter,” she said to a resounding applause.

Sullivan County legislature chair Nadia Rajsz selected another entrant at random from the spinning drum

“Arthur’s Acres Animal Sanctuary,” she announced excitedly.

There were an additional four nonprofits drawn in Sullivan.
