UPDATE: The owner of the horse has been located, and Dory has been safely returned home.

Original Press Release: On July 7, 2026, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the New York State Police responded to an animal complaint after a female horse was found traveling southbound in the area of State Route 26 and Streun Road in the town of Lee.
The horse is brown with a black mane and tail, has a white marking on her forehead, and a white left rear hoof.
Troopers have checked with numerous nearby residents, but the horse has not yet been claimed.
