Calling all Queens residents! Do you enjoy your borough and want to celebrate all that it has to offer? If the answer is yes, then come to Queens Day between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on July 18 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
There will be a variety of attractions to choose from, including family-friendly activities, concerts, and more, with something for just about everyone.
The NYC Parks’ Queens Recreation team is inviting people to join in on craft making and summer activities.
Visitors can watch world arts performances by CarNYval Dancers and the Loose Change Quartet, both from the Queens College School of Arts.
From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., people can take part in Zumba hosted by the Alliance for Flushing Meadows Corona Park’s Summer Fitness program.
Afterwards, at noon and 2 p.m., there will be World’s Fair Walking Tours from the Alliance for FMCP.
People can also learn about cancer and chronic disease prevention with NYC Health and Hospitals Elmhurst.
There are several events for sports enthusiasts, including all-ages Tennis Clinics at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center within the park.
There will also be intermediate canoeing with the NYC Parks Urban Park Rangers, embarking at Baseball Field 13.
Beginners can meet at the Meadow Lake Boathouse for rowing lessons from Row New York. The registration link for lessons will be announced at a later time.
At the Maloof Skate Park, there will be a Queens Day Skate Jam from the Skatepark Project.
For nature enthusiasts, there will be the opportunity to learn about the animals of the Americas and wildlife conservation with the Queens Zoo at the Unisphere.
Finally, Queens Day festivities will culminate in DJ Rekha’s Basement Bhangra Beyond Festival.
