Counties across New York are set to receive a portion of $110 million in state funding to boost emergency communications systems.
The funding will come from public safety and communications grants aimed at modernizing equipment and supporting Next Generation 911 across local governments.
The table below provides a breakdown of the Statewide Interoperable Communications Operations Grant Program funding each county will receive. The governor’s office says this funding will bolster communications networks through Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Systems, expand access to communications-focused training and exercises and maintain communications equipment.

This table provides a breakdown of the Public Safety Answering Points Operations Grant Program funding each county will receive. This program assists county 911 centers by supporting current operations and developing systems needed to implement Next Generation 911.

Leaders say the funding will help create a faster and more reliable emergency response.
“Every moment counts in an emergency, and making sure our communications equipment is ready when we need it is vital to keeping New Yorkers safe,” said Gov. Kathy Hochul. “Public safety is always my top priority, and this funding will go a long way to strengthen our emergency capabilities in every part of the state.”
