MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – One person was taken to an area hospital while another person was arrested following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday evening in Manhattan, authorities said.
The collision was reported around 5:33 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of N. Martin Luther King Drive.
Upon their arrival, Riley County police officers found that a 2008 Ford Econoline van driven by William Joseph Eichem, 46, of Manhattan, had collided with a 2025 Subaru Forrester driven by Teressa Chandler, 69, of Manhattan.

There were two additional passengers in the Subaru, authorities said.
Chandler was transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan for treatment of her injuries. Chandler’s condition wasn’t immediately available on Friday morning.
Eichem, meanwhile, was arrested and booked into the Riley County Jail in connection with driving while suspended and driving while a habitual violator.
Eichem was released from the Riley County Jail after posting a $3,000 bond, officials said.
