Included in the Brooklyn Park Police Department’s emergency alerts were these incidents:
July 5 — At 7:19 p.m., the fire department responded to the 6700 block of 92nd Court for a house fire. First-arriving units found a two-story residential home with heavy fire at the rear of the structure and heavy smoke issuing from the entire attic. Automatic/mutual aid was provided by Osseo, Plymouth, Maple Grove and Anoka-Champlin fire departments. The fire was brought under control approximately 28 minutes from the arrival of Brooklyn Park Battalion 1. Crews remained on the scene for approximately 2.5 hours completing overhaul in the structure. There was one injury to a firefighter. The cause is under investigation, and the incident attracted media attention.
– At approximately 10:46 p.m., Brooklyn Park Police responded to a shooting at Hartkopf Park located at 7300 Florida Avenue North. Officers learned a juvenile male had been shot and started rendering aid. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Brooklyn Park Investigators are actively working the case. Assistance is being provided by Hennepin County Crime Scene Investigations.
July 6 — At approximately 12:45 a.m., members of the Brooklyn Park Police Tactical Response Unit served a high-risk search warrant at a home in the 7900 block of Lee Avenue North. The warrant was at the request of Brooklyn Park Police Department detectives, in relation to an ongoing case. During the warrant six individuals were safely detained, and members of the SWAT team cleared the residence. All detained individuals and the home were left in the care and control of detectives on scene.
July 7 — At 3:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Point of America Apartments, located at 7850 Zane Avenue North, for an individual that had been stabbed. Officers located an adult female victim with a non life threatening stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Information was gathered on scene and the case is currently under investigation.
July 8 — At 5:13 p.m., the fire department responded to the 8000 block of Mount Curve Boulevard for a possible garage fire. First-arriving units found a detached garage that had a fire and was out upon Fire Department arrival. Auto aid was started by dispatch but cancelled. Fire crews verified the fire was out and performed overhaul. There were no injuries. The incident did not attract media attention.
