The number of personal income taxpayers leaving New York for elsewhere has slowed since the pandemic, according to a new dashboard released by state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.
New York since 2015 has grappled with the net out-migration of resident tax filers, meaning more taxpayers leave the state than move in each year. But the state saw a sharp spike in the number of taxpayers who left in 2020, when many people took advantage of remote work arrangements.
