Former commanding officer of the 52nd Precinct, Jeremy Scheublin, an inspector, of the 46th Precinct has been arrested and charged with attempted rape and other offenses, the Office of the Bronx District Attorney announced Friday, July 10.

 

The NYPD also announced Friday that at around 7.10 a.m. on Friday, Scheublin, 45, was arrested while off-duty and was charged within the confines of the 46th Precinct. He had previously been placed on desk duty. Norwood News had asked for details of the suspension but did not receive a response at the time.

As reported, Deputy Inspector Asif Iqbal was recently appointed as the new commanding officer of the 52nd Precinct, which covers some or all of the north Bronx neighborhoods of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham, Kingsbridge Heights, University Heights, along with Bronx Park.

 

Deputy Inspector Juan Moran is the current commanding officer of the 46th Precinct which covers the Fordham, University Heights, Morris Heights and Mount Hope neighborhoods.

AT THE 52ND Precinct Community Council meeting held Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 at The Plaza Rehab & Nursing Center on West Kingsbridge Road, members of the 52nd Precinct Community Council led by Council President Brenda Caldwell-Paris, members of the clergy council led by Minister Candido Gonzalez, and members of the 52nd Precinct led by now-former commanding officer Deputy Inspector Jeremy Scheublin and then-Captain Asif Iqbal, joined residents for a minute’s silence in memory of one-year-old Nicholas Feliz Dominici who, as reported, died after he was fatally poisoned with fentanyl at Divino Niño Daycare Center in Kingsbridge Heights on Sept. 15, 2023.
