I love a viral food moment as much as the next person, but waiting in line for hours before breakfast is when I start to question exactly how badly I need a pastry. Back in 2013, plenty of people decided the answer was “very badly.”

That was the year pastry chef Dominique Ansel introduced the Cronut at his New York City bakery. The croissant-doughnut hybrid quickly became a full-blown phenomenon, inspiring hours-long lines and countless attempts to recreate it. More than a decade later, Costco shoppers have spotted a much less labor-intensive way to scratch a similar itch.

According to @costcobuys, warehouses are selling 20-count boxes of Mini Croissant Donuts for $9.99 with each package filled with both glazed and cinnamon-sugar minis.

These aren’t Ansel’s version by any means, but they are a bite-sized take on the same general idea of combining two excellent pastries into one.

The comments section was basically one long chorus of people announcing that they needed the box immediately.

“These look so good! 🔥 can’t wait to try,” one person wrote. Another added, “Omg this looks so good definitely adding this to my cart!”

Others kept it even more direct, dropping plenty of “yum” comments, clapping emojis, and heart-eyes beneath the post. The general consensus wasn’t exactly hard to read.

One shopper, meanwhile, captured the financial reality of spotting yet another tempting Costco dessert: “My wallet is crying, but my stomach is singing.”

The post didn’t say whether the Mini Croissant Donuts are available nationwide or how long they’ll remain on shelves, so anyone hoping to try them may want to check their local warehouse sooner rather than later.

Costco certainly didn’t invent the croissant donut, but it may have found the easiest way to get people excited about it all over again—and in bulk, no less.
