A New York City police officer jumped into a murky creek in Queens to rescue a woman trapped in the water, clinging to a piling.
Video released Sunday shows officers yelling out to the woman along Newtown Creek Friday. But the officers were unable to bring their NYPD Harbor Unit boat close to her because of those very pilings.
An unnamed officer then jumped into the creek to rescue the woman after reaching out to help secure her. She was able to walk on her own when she got off the police boat to be treated.
Police have not said how the unidentified woman ended up in the creek.
