More hot weather is headed for the New York City metro area, with temperatures expected to climb into the upper 90s and heat index values near 100 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for New York City, the Lower Hudson Valley and Long Island from noon Tuesday, July 14, through 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 15.
Forecasters said actual temperatures are expected to reach the mid- to upper 90s, while heat index values — what the temperature feels like when humidity is factored in — could reach as high as 101 degrees.
