GRASMERE, Staten Island (PIX11) — A driver in a stolen car crashed into a two-story apartment building on Staten Island early Monday morning, according to police and sources.
A person behind the wheel of a 2012 Nissan Rogue was spotted driving recklessly before the SUV crashed into the building at 2 Grasmere Place near Mosel Avenue at around 4:55 a.m., police said.

The white Nissan barreled through a wooden fence before hitting a door of the home, according to video from the scene. Witnesses told investigators the SUV was out of control before the crash.
The driver and a passenger fled the scene but were later apprehended, police said. The charges were pending.
Sources said the Rogue was stolen on the South Shore of Staten Island, but the circumstances were unclear.
There were no injuries reported. The investigation is ongoing.
