The Mayor’s Office launched a new digital initiative to solve New Yorkers’ problems in a speedy way .

The initiative is called the “Public Interest Technology (PIT) Crew.” The crew is a team comprised of product managers, designers, engineers, researchers and data experts, who will work with city agencies to solve public problems with in-house digital solutions.

The first PIT Crew is teaming up with Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) to create an online portal that allows New Yorkers to file complaints against companies with hard-to cancel and expensive subscriptions. This portal supports the administration’s “Click to Cancel” protections.

Three more crews are set to advance the Mayor’s affordability and public excellence agenda.

Anyone interested in joining the PIT Crew is asked to apply on the City’s website.
