BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — An oversized semi-trailer became firmly wedged into an intersection in Brooklyn Heights on Sunday for more than 1.5 hours “and counting,” according to neighborhood resident Timmy Daniels, who shared photos of the incident with the Brooklyn Eagle. The truck was attempting to turn off Montague Street onto tiny Pierrepont Place when it became jammed.

According to the New York Department of Transportation, 53-foot semi-trailers are not allowed to make pick ups or deliveries in any borough of New York City. However, the Brooklyn Heights Association says it has been “besieged” by complaints for years about these huge trucks, the Eagle reported.

Markings on the truck’s cab indicated it is operated by DSFR Trucking LLC, a for-hire freight carrier based in Philadelphia. The company owns one truck, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. A sign painted on the back of the truck says, “Atlantic Utility Rentals and Leasing.”
The Eagle has reached out to DSFR Trucking for comment.
