Hannah Mann will represent the Mendota Elk Lodge #1212 in the 79th Annual Sweet Corn Festival pageant later this summer, competing for the title of Sweet Corn Queen.
She was active in Future Farmers of America, serving as the reporter for two years and then vice president junior and senior year, as well as earning her state degree.
Mann participated in the Interact Club, a Rotary-sponsored student organization.
She is a sales associate at Early Bird and an apparel associate at Rural King.
In her free time, Hannah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and going hiking.
She also finds the time to raise and show Boer goats.
Throughout the summer, Hannah plans to work on the family farm, attend livestock shows for her Boer goats, prepare for college and continue working at her jobs as she looks forward to getting ready for the next chapter in her education.
Hannah plans on attending Illinois Valley Community College to get an Associate Degree in Science and Art, then transferring to either the University of Iowa or the University of Illinois to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine.
Her goal, according to the release, is to become a veterinarian, where she can combine her passion for animals and agriculture while making a positive impact by supporting future generations involved in the agricultural industry.
