CHELSEA, Manhattan (PIX11) — Global music superstars BTS will bring the sentiments of the Korean folk song Arirang to New York City this month ahead of their MetLife Stadium tour takeover.
Arte Museum at Chelsea Piers will transform into the Arirang Garden exhibition from July 24 to Aug. 14 as part of the BTS the City Arirang experience.

Produced by the digital design and art company d’strict, Arte Museum will bring to life select songs from the group’s newest album with visual installations, scents and soundscapes in an immersive experience.
Fans will step into the world of Arirang beginning with the track “No. 29,” which will introduce visitors to the exhibition with the resonating sound of South Korea’s 1200-year-old Divine Bell of King Seongdeok. Silhouettes of the seven-member group will be displayed as the sound echoes through the digital space.
The culture and beauty of Korea will then be displayed to the beat of “Body to Body” with red symbols portraying the feeling of the folk song Arirang.
For the group’s comeback title track, “Swim,” visitors will be surrounded by seven orcas, representing the seven members, as they wade through a digital ocean filled with waves of starlight. Fans will then get to experience BTS “2.0” with a spatial production of the “Oldboy” inspired music video.

Finally, visitors will step “Into the Sun” with BTS as they’re surrounded by landscapes of Las Vegas, New York and Busan, South Korea, to reflect the group’s global reach.
The experience continues through to the Arte Museum’s themed Arirang Cafe and interactive live sketchbook called “Guardians.”
“This project offers a unique environment where Arte Museum’s digital media meets the music of BTS,” said a representative from d’strict. “As part of ‘THE CITY’ project in New York, we aim to provide a memorable visual and auditory experience for our global audience.”
