CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A celebration of the Caribbean diaspora is coming to the borough that’s home to the “Little Caribbean” neighborhood.
The Brooklyn Museum will host “First Saturday: Where Brooklyn Meets the Caribbean” on Aug. 1, welcoming visitors to enjoy music, talks, art and poetry by artists from across the Caribbean islands.

The museum will be transformed with the vibes and sounds of the Caribbean, including a steel pan performance by youth members of the Metro Steel Orchestra, hands-on collage art and sketching, a pop-up market with handmade items, performances from the first Pananmanian marching band, konpa dance workshops and more.
