The New York State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. on July 15, 2026, on State Highway 281 in the town of Tully, near the intersection of Meeting House Road.

A preliminary investigation determined that a sport utility vehicle (SUV) was turning left from a parking lot onto State Highway 281 when it collided with a motorcycle traveling on State Highway 281.

The operator of the motorcycle, Jacob P. Lyman, age 26, of Homer, NY, was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The operator of the SUV, Robert M. Brhel, age 73, of Fabius, NY, was not injured.

The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) responded to the scene and is assisting with the investigation. Members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) also responded to assist.

The investigation remains ongoing.
