STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Among the many written items Staten Island Advance/SILive.com staff craft daily are stories that honor some the borough’s most influential, impactful, accomplished and beloved Staten Islanders who have recently died.

Feature obituary stories require a delicate touch and a sensitive conversation with surviving loved ones, friends, colleagues and neighbors. These stories are usually the last words written about a person.

To ensure these special stories are prioritized for our readers — specifically Advance/SILive.com subscribers — we’ve unveiled a newsletter that remembers Staten Islanders no longer with us.

Staten Island Obituaries debuted earlier this month, on Thursday, Oct. 16. With the help of Advance/SILive.com staffer and obituary writer Amanda Faublas, this twice-weekly, hand-crafted exclusive newsletter will be delivered to subscribers every Monday and Thursday going forward.

The Staten Island Obituaries newsletter features staff-written remembrances, plus obituaries shared by relatives of loved ones. Additionally, each newsletter includes the names of Staten Islanders who have recently passed.

Subscribers may sign up via our newsletter page. Click “Sign Up” next to the top item, Staten Island Obituaries, to receive the next edition.
