SHEEPSHEAD BAY, Brooklyn (PIX11) — An officer is in the hospital after police responded to a call of drag racing in a Brooklyn neighborhood early Saturday morning.
Authorities were confronting alleged drag racers in the area of Knapp Street and Avenue W around 3 a.m. on Saturday when the drivers sped off, officials reported.

At least one of the drag racers crashed into a patrol car, causing damage and injuring an officer, according to police.
The officer is in stable condition in the hospital and the incident remains under investigation.
A description of the vehicles involved was not immediately made known.
