The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing to go to Saint Vincent College for their annual training camp, and players are preparing in every possible way. However, it was a different topic which got some members of the Steelers talking on social media Friday. Following the FIFA World Cup being played in several stadiums used for NFL games, but using a grass surface, linebacker Patrick Queen took to Twitter/X to talk about the NFL’s stance on playing surfaces.
Here is what Queen initially said:
We know grass is possible because we’ve seen stadiums make the change. Players are #WorthTheCost.

After several other Steelers chimed in on the topic, it was a fan who asked a general question to Queen which actually got a response from the inside linebacker. The question was if he was excited about getting a new defensive coordinator?
Queen’s answer was short and sweet:
Absolutely

The response to the question might seem simple, but to me there is more to this than just a response on social media. Queen might be active on social media at times, but it doesn’t mean he had to respond to the simple question. He could have ignored it, but he chose to answer it, which anyone can read into however they want. With the response, Queen talked about his excitement to play for new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
On top of the social media response, it is noteworthy Queen is going into a contract year, and he could benefit from the tutelage of Graham and his defensive scheme. Many are wondering if Queen is capable of playing the inside linebacker role in Graham’s defense, and only time will tell if it’s a good fit. One thing we know for sure, Queen is excited about the opportunity.
Be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for training camp in just over a week.
