WABAUNSEE COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) – A Manhattan man was arrested Saturday in connection with a road rage incident in Wabaunsee County.
The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting an in-progress road rage incident on westbound I-70 around 3:23 p.m.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Aaron Platz located the suspect vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver reportedly continued before stopping in Geary County.
Then, deputies, along with the Kansas Highway Patrol, conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
The driver was identified as Martin Johannes, 21, of Manhattan, Kan. He was taken into custody without incident.
Johannes was booked into the Wabaunsee County Jail in connection with:
Aggravated Assault Driving in the Left Lane Impeding the Normal Flow of Traffic
He was later released on bond.
The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office reminds all that aggressive driving can become dangerous. Anyone who encounters an aggressive driver is encouraged to call 911 and avoid engaging.
