Police say a woman is dead after being taken to the hospital from a holistic medicine center in The Bronx.
The facility in question is located on Riverdale Avenue.
Police got a 911 call from the hospital where she was taken. The staff told police a 27-year-old woman was found unconscious and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead not long after officers got there.
There is no word from police on exactly how the woman died. Police arrested Luis Rojas Cabrera, 55, and charged him with reckless endangerment and unauthorized practice of a profession.
The center’s website states that Cabrera is a surgeon, naturopath and a member of the Dominican Medical College.
Sources say the victim was injected by an unknown substance. The Office of the Medical Examiner is running a toxicology report to determine the cause of death.
