MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A Haskell County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was damaged in an attempted burglary Monday night in Manhattan, authorities said.
The incident was reported around 7:07 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of S. 3rd Street in Manhattan.
Riley County police officers filed a report for attempted theft of property or services and criminal damage to property in the case.

The Haskell County Sheriff’s Office was listed as the victim when it was reported that an unknown person damaged an unmarked vehicle during an attempted burglary.
The total estimated damage associated with this incident is more than $1,000.
There was no word on why the Haskell County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was in Manhattan.
No arrests had been reported as of 10:31 a.m. Tuesday.
Haskell County is located in southwest Kansas. The county seat of Sublette is located 279 miles southwest of Manhattan.
