PLATTEKILL, N.Y. — A bus overturned on the New York State Thruway on Tuesday morning.
The New York State Police said the rollover happened in the Town of Plattekill, Ulster County, N.Y. The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. between Exit 18 and 17.
The state police said injured passengers were taken to local hospitals or are still being evaluated as of 11 a.m. 17 non-injured passengers are being taken to a reunification center. A total of 23 passengers were on the bus.
There are no life-threatening injuries reported, the state police said.
The rollover blocked one lane of traffic, prompting a four-mile delay on the southbound side and an around 3-mile delay on the northbound side. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
The cause of the rollover was not released.
