A truck collided with an 8-year-old child on a scooter Friday afternoon at the intersection of Candlewood Drive and Brunswick Avenue North, according to the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
The boy did not survive his injuries.
Police responded to the call at roughly 2 p.m. and found an 8-year-old boy had been riding an electric scooter when he was struck by a pickup truck pulling a trailer. The driver immediately called 911 and remained on scene.
In a news release, police noted the driver showed no indications of impairment and is cooperating with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
The Minnesota State Patrol was requested to the scene to conduct a reconstruction of the accident.
