On July 21, 2026, at approximately 12:31 p.m., New York State Police in Cortlandt responded to a reported larceny at the Home Depot located at 3051 Main Street in the Town of Cortlandt.
Upon arrival, Home Depot Loss Prevention personnel advised that three possible Hispanic males had left the store and were traveling westbound toward Peekskill.
Troopers canvassed the area and located three individuals matching the descriptions provided on Bank Street in Peekskill. An investigation determined that Christopher Caguana-Uzho, 19, of Peekskill, New York, and Santiago J. Quinatoa Osorio, 24, of Cortlandt Manor, New York, attempted to steal more than $500 worth of merchandise from Home Depot.
During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Jonathan Maldonado, 27, of Peekskill, New York, exhibited signs of intoxication. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, after which he was taken into custody and transported to State Police Cortlandt for processing. Maldonado subsequently submitted to a chemical breath test, which yielded a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.35%.
Caguana-Uzho and Quinatoa Osorio were each arrested and charged with Petit Larceny, a Class A misdemeanor. Both were issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Cortlandt Court on August 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Maldonado was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (three prior convictions), a Class D felony, Driving While Intoxicated (three prior convictions), a Class D felony, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st, a class E felony. He was arraigned in the Village of Buchanan Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
