Brooklyn Park police are searching for a suspect on Wednesday after a second home break-in in less than a week where an armed man assaulted a woman and ran away.
According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, officers responded around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday to reports of an assault in the 7500 block of Jersey Avenue North. Officers said the suspect entered the home about 5:30 a.m. and held a gun to the victim’s head before sexually assaulting her.
Police described the suspect as a light-skinned Black man wearing a ski mask with medium-length dreads sticking out. The suspect left before officers arrived at the scene.
On July 17, Brooklyn Park police said they were looking for a man who entered a home near Hampshire Avenue North and demanded money and assaulted a woman.

Police have not confirmed whether the cases are related.
Brooklyn Park police said they created a task force focused on the suspect and are asking for the public’s help.
Authorities are urging residents to secure their doors and windows, especially on the ground floor. They also recommend checking security cameras for signs of anyone lurking near homes in the last week.
