OTEGO, N.Y. (WBNG) — An Otego man was arrested on Monday after troopers said he crashed a motorcycle he had stolen in 2025.
Jaime S. Schreiber, 33, of Otego, was arrested on Monday, July 20, on the following charges:
Criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor.Aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
Schreiber’s arrest stemmed from a report of a crash on Monday around 11 a.m. on state Highway 7 in the town of Otego, troopers said.
When troopers got to the scene, a heavily damaged motorcycle was found, but the rider was nowhere to be found.
During the investigation, troopers learned that the motorcycle had been reported stolen in 2025, and the driver was identified as Schreiber.
Troopers searched the area and found Schreiber at a residence on state Highway 7, where he was arrested.
He was processed on the above charges and issued appearance tickets for the Otego Town Court on Aug. 20.
