On July 20, 2026, at approximately 11:04 a.m., New York State Police at Sidney responded to a reported motorcycle crash on State Highway 7 in the town of Otego.
When Troopers arrived, they located a heavily damaged motorcycle, but the operator was no longer at the scene. During the investigation, Troopers determined the motorcycle had been reported stolen in 2025 and identified the operator as Jaime S. Schreiber, 33 of Otego.
Schreiber was later located at a residence on State Highway 7 and arrested. He was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd degree, both misdemeanors.
Schreiber was processed and issued appearance tickets returnable to the Otego Town Court on August 20, 2026.
