A car exploded in the Bronx on Wednesday night, leaving at least five firefighters injured, according to officials. The FDNY said crews responded to a reported vehicle explosion around 7 PM near 955 Westchester Avenue, between Intervale Avenue and Kelly Street. NYC’s official emergency notification system also warned residents on X to expect traffic delays, road closures, and a heavy presence of emergency personnel in the area of Fox Street and Westchester Avenue due to FDNY activity, urging commuters to use alternate routes and allow extra travel time.
