FORT GREENE, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A livery cab driver was shot in the face after dropping off a passenger at a Brooklyn home early Friday morning, according to sources.
The 50-year-old man was found conscious and alert in his car at 99 North Portland Ave. in Fort Greene shortly after 4 a.m., police said.

Sources said the victim was driving a female passenger home when he got into an accident with a sprinter ride-for-hire van, which caused the collision.
The passenger then called her brother and told him about the accident. The woman’s brother and mother then came outside and started arguing with the van driver, sources said.
Then an unknown person knocked on the livery cab driver’s window and shot him in the face, according to law enforcement sources.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was expected to survive.
Sources said the suspect was not involved in the accident or the argument outside North Portland Avenue.
Authorities said they’re looking for a man last seen wearing a black shirt and gray shorts in connection with the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
