A 50-year-old for-hire driver was rushed away from a Fort Greene block after being shot in the face Friday morning.

Hours later, glass was still scattered across the street and the driver side window of another vehicle shot out.

According to police sources, Amin had been dropping off a passenger when his vehicle collided with a medical delivery van.

The passenger called her brother, and sources say he and her mother came outside and began arguing with the other driver.

The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers has been in contact with Amin’s family.

“The driver was just trying to deescalate the situation,” Fernando Mateo, the founder of New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers, said.

According to sources, while that argument was unfolding, another man came from the nearby Whitman Houses. He walked up to Amin’s car and knocked on his window, then shot him.

“He was just there. Wrong place, wrong time,” Mateo said.

The gunman fled back toward the Whitman Houses, police said.

“It’s the area. It’s the neighborhood. These kids are going crazy now, shooting everywhere. Just hope he makes it through, that’s all,” neighbor Roger Smith said.

Amin underwent surgery and remains in stable condition.

Mateo says Amin immigrated from Bangladesh, lives in Queens and has spent 16 years driving to support his wife and children.

“He’s just a guy working hard to make a living,” Mateo said.

The federation is now raising money for Amin’s family, and it plans to announce a reward to find the suspect.

“We need for Mayor [Zohran] Mamdani to make it mandatory for every cab driver to have a camera in his vehicle. This way we can help [the] NYPD when any driver gets attacked,” Mateo said.

Police have not announced an arrest.

According to the federation, this is the second driver shot while working in the last two weeks.
