At Dolores, a new bar from the team of nearby restaurant Winona’s, you may have to wait for a table, and the customers spill out onto the street. But the dialed-in cocktails, botanas (Mexican bar snacks) and rotating specials are worth the hype.

It’s playful here: There are literal bar games and cheeky touches like that one cactus-stemmed glass that suburban Tex-Mex restaurants love. The outdoor seating is pleasant and lively, but grabbing a booth indoors is far superior to take in the art deco design and the din of a new spot that’s already hitting its stride.
