When contacted, the NYPD press office said they did not yet have a report on the incident and recommended that we check back later on Sunday.

Substantial damage was seen to two cars and less damage to a third. They were later towed away. A police officer at the scene did say that the gray-colored car had been moved after the accident and prior to the attached video being recorded (perhaps to let passing traffic get by.]

Several people were at the scene on Sunday but none who had seen the accident take place. Norwood News was informed of some second-hand information regarding the incident from one person who declined to be identified but for legal reasons, we are unable to publish this at this time. We will share any further updates that we can share as soon as they become available.

Another male bystander who lives on Decatur Avenue said the neighborhood was generally quiet. “Things like this don’t happen often here, especially at this intersection because, you know, not only do we have lights now but it’s a school setting. We barely see people going past 10 [p.m.] around here.  People are very respectful.” he said. “It’s a small neighborhood. Anyone that comes around here probably lives around here.”

“This is truly shocking,” the man continued.
