Keith Hallam joined Freshfields as a partner in its mergers and acquisitions and corporate practice in New York, the firm announced Monday.

Hallam joins from White & Case, where he was a partner for more than two years. He spent nearly two decades at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, advising on broad range of M&A transactions.

He focuses on public and private M&A, carve-outs, joint ventures, strategic investments, structured equity and cross-border transactions, Freshfields said. Hallam represents corporates, private equity sponsors and strategic and financial investors across numerous industries, with notable experience in activism defense and shareholder-engagement matters.
