NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — You may want to make sure you double-check your local train service before you head out the door in August.
The MTA has announced multiple service changes and temporary suspensions for some subway lines throughout August to allow the agency to upgrade train tracks and perform signal maintenance.

N train line changes
Due to track replacement between the 57 St. and 5 Av-59 St subway stations, N trains will operate in two sections each weekend in August and weekday nights beginning mid-month.
One section will operate between Queensboro Plaza and Ditmars Blvd. in Queens, while the other section runs between Stillwell Av in Brooklyn and Times Sq-42 St in Manhattan.
Weekend service changes will begin Fridays at 11:30 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. on Monday, starting on Aug. 7. Changes will apply every weekend until Aug. 31.
Additionally, weeknight train service will change from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day beginning Aug. 11.

To make up for service during the weekend, R trains will operate via 63 St in both directions between 57 St in Manhattan and 36 St in Queens.
Commuters can also take the No. 7 train for service between Queens and Manhattan by transferring at Queensboro Plaza or Times Sq-42 St.
W train line changes
Service will be suspended on the W train line Monday to Friday from 5:01 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The suspensions will run from Aug. 24 through Aug. 28.
For alternate service, commuters will be able to take select R trains that will run via 63 St between 57 St in Manhattan and 36 St in Queens.

L train line changes
For the last two weekends in August, L trains will not run between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy. The partial suspension will last from 11:30 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday for the weekends of Aug. 21 and Aug. 28.
Free local and non-stop shuttle buses will serve the stations skipped during those weekends.
Weekday service on the L train will also run in two sections between Aug. 24 and Aug. 28 between the hours of 5 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. One section will run between 8 Av and Broadway Junction while another runs as a shuttle between Broadway Junction and E 105 St.
For alternate service, commuters can also take fare-free shuttle buses between Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy and E 105 St.
J trains will also run local to allow for even spacing between the J and L train shuttle that will be operating on the same platform.
