NEW YORK (PIX11) — The worst of this week’s storms is behind us, but there are still a few showers around.
There are no longer flood risks around the area. However, if you’re headed to the beaches, keep in mind there is a high rip current risk and just a slight chance of minor coastal flooding later this evening.

We will continue to dry out, but there’s still a chance of a few scattered showers later today. Temperatures may also be a few degrees cooler by this afternoon as a system continues to pull away.
After bottoming out in the 60s this morning, expect highs in the upper 70s with a few locations possibly reaching the low 80s.
Much warmer temperatures will arrive on Friday with highs returning to the 80s.
So far, the weekend looks fantastic with Saturday being the better half. There is a chance for showers on Sunday. Looking ahead to next week, more showers and storms are expected to arrive, so keep the umbrella handy.
