The Queens Botanical Garden has an eclectic calendar of activity in August.
Aug. 8 features Infinity Day, part of the Math In Bloom series, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Later that evening, Movie Night will show the 1999 sci-fi thriller “The Matrix” on the front lawn. Activities begin at 6:30. The movie starts at 8 p.m. Both events are free with regular garden admission.
A Farm Workshop on the proper way to prune homegrown tomatoes takes place on Aug. 9 at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $4 for QBG members and $10 for nonmembers.
Movie Night returns on Aug. 15 with a showing of the 2018 film “Crazy Rich Asians.” It is free with regular admission.
“Taiwan: A World of Orchids” returns for a 13th year beginning at 10 a.m. on Aug. 22 and 23 with a new display and rare species from the Taiwan Orchid Growers Association. Members are free. Other tickets range from $8 for adults to $2 for kids 4 to 12.
QBG tickets are $6 for adults; $4 for students and seniors 62 and up; and $2 for ages 4 to 12. The main QBG entrance is at 43-50 Main St. in Flushing.
