AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Thursday is Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen, and buying a Blizzard means supporting the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
Arshiq Momin, owner and operator of a local Dairy Queen, said a dollar or more from every Blizzard purchased Thursday will go to the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
“Any blizzard that gets purchased, a dollar or more proceeds will go to the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital,” Momin said. “It helps them get equipment, helps them save life-saving procedures, helps them just get what they need to help get the kids better.”
Momin said the annual event is about more than selling ice cream.
“It’s something that’s bigger than us,” he said. “It’s something that one day a year instead of us, let’s look out for the kids. Let’s help get the kids better. Every day that a kid is able to get better is a day that’s better for us as well.”
Customers can also purchase balloons at the register, with all proceeds going to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
Momin said his location will also have games and face painting starting around noon.
Dairy Queen locations in the Augusta area are participating from open to close Thursday.
