This week marks 61 years of Medicaid and Medicare. The programs help seniors and those of lower incomes to obtain health insurance.
More than 10 million people, or nearly half of New Yorkers, are on Medicaid or Medicare. Advocates held an event on Wednesday celebrating the anniversary and calling for more action on affordable healthcare.
