FORT GREENE — THE BROOKLYN HOSPITAL CENTER on Friday announced the appointment of Adrina Banks-Martin as chair of the board of trustees, effective immediately. Her election reflects the hospital’s mission, spearheaded by her predecessor Lizanne Fontaine, to build a board that more closely reflects the hospital and its “culturally rich community,” TBHC said in a release. Fontaine served on TBHC’s board since 2002, and as chair since 2018.

“Adrina lives in the neighborhood and brings a wealth of experience to this role,” Fontaine said, noting her successor’s involvement on the hospital’s Community Advisory Board, and as chair of the hospital board’s Quality and Patient Safety Committee. Banks-Martin retired as project manager in the Global Finance Firmwide Financial Business Architecture team with J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.

“The energy on our board is all about: How do we make this the best hospital for the community that we serve? This priority gives you a solid foundation to work from,” Banks-Martin said.
