STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities arrested two men for a store robbery in West Brighton where they allegedly threatened to shoot a worker.

Jamier McGinnis, 21, of Dongan Hills Avenue, and Colin Williams, 19, of Ann Street in Port Richmond allegedly also told the victim they knew where he lived, according to the criminal complaint and police.

Court documents allege that each defendant has multiple cases making their way through the state court system in St. George.

McGinnis also faces charges in a separate robbery in Dongan Hills and a traffic case involving driving without a valid license.

Williams was indicted by a grand jury in May after police allegedly caught him driving a stolen car with a teen passenger. Officers found a gun in the vehicle.

‘I’ll shoot you’

The robbery in West Brighton began as shoplifting on July 20 at about 10 p.m. inside a store at 718 Henderson Ave, according to the criminal complaint.

West Brighton Deli Grocery and Grill is located at the address supplied by police.

The duo allegedly removed over 60 items, including 30 packs of chips, fruit snacks, candy, fries, soda and bottled water, according to the criminal complaint.

The defendants “placed their hands in their pockets and pointed what appeared to be guns at informant through defendants’ pockets,” according to the criminal complaint.

“If you call the police, I’ll shoot you,” the criminal complaint quoted the defendants as saying to the victim.

Williams and McGinnis returned to the store the next day around 6 p.m. and allegedly took a photo of the victim’s license plate.

“We know where you live,” the criminal complaint quoted the defendants as saying. “We’re coming to your house.”

Charges against the defendants include robbery, intimidating a victim or witness, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and harassment.

Beatdown robbery in Dongan Hills

McGinnis was arrested for a robbery on July 17 around 1 a.m. near Richmond Road and Buel Avenue on Staten Island.

The victim was a 21-year-old woman, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.

The criminal complaint alleges that McGinnis shoved and pushed a victim on the chest and shoulders, causing the victim to fall on the ground.

The victim had a cell phone in her hand when McGinnis snatched the device and ran, according to the criminal complaint.

McGinnis was charged with robbery, grand larceny, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, attempted assault and harassment.

On July 24 at about 11 p.m., officers allegedly spotted McGinnis driving a 2011 Blue Nissan Altima that did not signal while turning right onto Montgomery Avenue from Victory Boulevard in Tompkinsville, according to the criminal complaint.

Further investigation revealed that the 21-year-old defendant’s license was suspended or revoked, according to the criminal complaint.

McGinnis was charged with misdemeanors that included aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a license violation and unsafe turn or failure to give appropriate signal.

Gun recovered in stolen car

On April 26, police allegedly pulled over Williams and a juvenile defendant in a stolen car at about 6:45 p.m. on Henderson Avenue near the West Brighton Houses. Williams allegedly was driving a gray 2021 Honda Accord and the teen was in the passenger seat.

Court documents allege that about a half-hour later, officers found a black backpack on the floor behind the driver’s seat of the Honda near the 120th Precinct stationhouse in St. George. Inside the backpack was a 9mm Luger caliber semi-automatic Glock gun.

The seven-count indictment against Williams includes criminal possession of a weapon in the second and fourth degrees, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of stolen property in third and fourth degrees and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree.

Williams allegedly was driving a gray 2026 Honda that he did not own on June 17 at about 9 p.m. in the vicinity of State Street and Castleton Avenue in West Brighton, according to the criminal complaint.

Officers pulled over the Honda, which had an Illinois license plate, after Williams failed to signal before turning. He was unable to show a valid driver’s license upon request.

Williams was charged with misdemeanors that included unauthorized use of a vehicle, a vehicle license violation and unsafe turn or failure to give appropriate signal.

The defendants have pleaded not guilty to all charges. McGinnis was released on non-monetary conditions and is due back in state Criminal Court on Sept. 28. Williams is free on bail set at $75,000 bond/$25,000 cash. He is due back in state Supreme Court in St. George on Sept. 17, according to public records.

Attorneys for the defendants did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
